Shares

A share is a part or portion of a larger amount that is divided among a number of people, or to which a number of people contribute. You are required to buy Rhema Group shares at Kshs. 100/- each, minimum 50 shares, to become a member. Share certificates will be issued after buying a minimum of 20 shares, and will be issued by branch managers at the branch level.

Shares represents your ownership of the sacco, they are not withdrawable, but if you decide on leaving, you can transfer/sell them to someone else. Shares are also part of security when applying for a loan. You also earn dividends on your shares. Share capital helps to run the company, eg buying of stationery, opening and maintaining branches, etc. Minimum share contribution per month is Ksh. 200/-

After a member sends his/her subscription amount to Mpesa Till No. 646879. The system will then calculate how many new shares this will yield, and send them a message informing the number of new shares and total shares.

Even if one share is 100, one does not need to send the money in denominations of 100. Any amount can be sent, but the excess shall be stored and added to the amount the member/staff shall till next time. e.g. if I send Shs. 470, the system will allocate me 4 shares, and keep a record of the remaining sh 70. If next time I send 30, it will add to the existing 70 and give me 1 more share. That is done automatically. Therefore one can buy the shares in bits, but the certificate shall be issued upon completing the purchase of the desired amount of shares. Minimum 20 shares. Shares are not withdrawable  but are transferable from one member to another, i.e. you can sell to another member.
